To the family who just got the call

Josh and his mom.

In early 2026, my mom was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.

If you've been on the receiving end of a call like that, you know what comes next. The diagnosis is the headline. But the rest of life rearranges around the footnotes. Appointment after appointment. A binder that thickens by the week. A scan report you can't parse at 11pm. A medication list that changes every Tuesday. A specialist who mentions a clinical trial in passing. A pharmacist who flags an interaction. A nurse who calls back with results while you're driving the kids home.

You become an air traffic controller for someone you love.

I needed a place to put all of it. A place that would actually understand what was inside. Read the pathology report, surface what mattered, connect last week's lab to this week's. A place I could ask questions out loud (what does ECOG 2 mean, what did the oncologist say about the next scan, has Mom's platelet count been trending) and get a real answer, with a citation back to the page where it came from. A place my dad and my brother and the cousin who's a nurse could all see the same thing at the same time, without me having to be the one re-explaining everything every Sunday night.

That place didn't exist. So, naturally, I built it.

KeptWell isn't going to change my mom's diagnosis. It won't change yours, either. What it can do is the work no one prepared us to do: keep the pile of paperwork in one place, read every page of it, surface what matters, answer questions when the doctor's office is closed, and make sure the whole family is holding the same picture at the same time. The thing the binder was supposed to do, finally doing it.

I built KeptWell during the worst weeks of my family's life because I needed it. We're sharing it because every family I've talked to since the diagnosis is doing some version of the same impossible math, and shouldn't have to invent the same tool from scratch in the middle of the storm.

If you're reading this in the first week after a diagnosis, or in the long quiet work of caring for an aging parent, or in any of the seasons in between, KeptWell is here for that.

What KeptWell is for

KeptWell is an AI-powered medical document hub for families navigating serious illness or the long arc of caring for an aging parent. It replaces the physical binder with something that actually understands what's inside: reads every page, pulls out every lab value, and keeps the whole family on the same page.

We are not a clinic. We are not a substitute for the doctors and nurses caring for your loved one. We are the layer that holds everything they tell you, organizes it for the family, and lets you walk into the next appointment ready.
