These are the terms you accept when you use KeptWell. We have tried to write them in plain English. If anything is unclear, email us at [email protected].

KeptWell is a tool to help your family organize and understand medical information. It is not medical advice, and it is not a substitute for licensed healthcare professionals.

Your account

You must be at least 18 years old to create a KeptWell account. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your account secure. If you discover unauthorized access to your account, email us at [email protected] so we can help.

When you create a care circle and invite others, you are responsible for inviting only people who should have access to that circle's information.

Your data, your control

You own everything you put into KeptWell — documents, notes, chat history, journal entries. We hold it on your behalf to provide the service.

You grant us the limited license we need to actually run KeptWell: to read, store, process, and display your data so the service can do its job. We do not claim ownership of your data and we do not use it for anything other than providing KeptWell to you.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Upload data you do not have the right to share, including data belonging to people who have not consented to be in your care circle.
  • Attempt to access another user's account, another circle's data, or any non-public part of the service.
  • Reverse engineer, scrape, or systematically extract data from the service beyond what the service itself provides to you.
  • Use the service to violate any law, harass anyone, or distribute malware.
  • Resell or redistribute the service without our written permission.

Subscription and billing

KeptWell is currently offered free of charge while we build it. If we add paid plans or features in the future, we will add a section here describing how billing works, and we will give you advance notice before charging anyone.

Medical disclaimer

KeptWell is not medical advice. It is a tool to help your family organize, understand, and discuss medical information. AI-generated summaries, flags, citations, and answers are aids — not diagnoses, not treatment recommendations, and not a substitute for licensed healthcare professionals.

Always check important findings with your care team. In an emergency, call 911 (or your country's emergency number).

Service availability

We work hard to keep KeptWell running, but we do not promise 100% uptime. We may need to take the service down for maintenance, fix bugs, or respond to incidents. We will give notice when we can.

We reserve the right to change, add, or remove features. If we sunset something you depend on, we will tell you and give you a way to export your data first.

Termination

You can delete your account anytime from inside the app. We will remove your data within 30 days.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or pose a safety or security risk. Where possible, we will give you a chance to fix the issue before we act.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, KeptWell is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — including lost data, lost profits, or harm caused by errors in the service.

Our total liability for any claim arising from the service is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or $100, whichever is greater.

This section does not limit liability for fraud or anything else that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alabama, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the service will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Alabama.

Changes to these terms

We update this page when our practices change. Material changes — new restrictions on use, new fees, anything that affects your rights — are flagged with a heading at the top of this page and, where appropriate, an in-app notice.
